Bhopal: The two-day State-Level Arts Festival of the School Education Department will begin in Bhopal on Friday at 10 am. The program aims to provide a platform for school students to showcase their art, culture, and heritage. The program will be held at the Madhya Pradesh Land and Water Management Institute (WALMI) in Kaliasot, Kolar Road.
Approximately 250 school students from various regions of the state will perform in the two-day State-Level Arts Festival. These students were selected in a state-level competition based on the best performances by students in nine divisions. The festival will feature performances of Malvi and Bundeli folk songs, Baredi Badhai, Dhim Rai, Gaur dance, and regional folk dances.
Students will also present plays and story-based readings. The Art Festival will feature short plays based on the lives of Rani Durgavati and Rani Ahilyabai Holkar.
In the instrumental category, students will present stunning musical performances using traditional instruments such as the flute, sitar, tabla, timki, dholak, and tura. Madhya Pradesh has always been a land of art. Bhimbetka and its caves bear witness to ancient art.
Students will showcase their paintings based on Pithora, Gond art, and Malwa painting. Competitions based on sculpture, painting, and local games and toys will also be special attractions. The Festival will conclude on October 25. Senior officials from the School Education Department and academicians will be present at the inaugural session.
