Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that another historic chapter in state’s road infrastructure development is set to be added on July 10. On this day, the ground-breaking ceremony for the Ujjain-Jaora Greenfield four-lane road project will take place.
Spanning about 98.73 kilometers, this ambitious project will be constructed by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation at a cost of Rs 5,017 crore. The project route will pass through the Ujjain South, Ghattiya, Nagda-Khachrod, Alot, and Jaora assembly constituencies. Scheduled for completion within two years, the project will directly benefit a population of approximately 35 lakhs and 62 villages.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the construction of the greenfield four-lane road would provide Ujjain with direct and rapid connectivity to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This route will prove to be extremely convenient and accessible, especially for pilgrims and tourists arriving from Rajasthan, Gujarat, and other parts of the country during Simhastha 2028.
Additionally, connectivity for Indore, Bhopal, and the Malwa region will be significantly strengthened. The project entails the construction of a 98.73-kilometer greenfield four-lane road, 3 rail overbridges, 9 major bridges, 26 medium bridges, and 417 culverts.
Furthermore, the construction of service roads on both sides—connecting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway interchange at the Jaora bypass to the Mhow-Neemuch four-lane road—is also proposed.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that this project would impart new momentum to the region’s industrial, commercial, and agricultural development. It will facilitate the quick transport of farmers’ produce to various agricultural markets while also boosting industries, logistics, and investment activities. Improved road connectivity will result in savings on travel time and fuel, alongside a significant improvement in road safety.
The Ujjain-Jaora Greenfield Four-Lane Project is one of Madhya Pradesh’s key infrastructure projects; upon completion, it will give a new direction to the state’s economic, industrial, and social progress and provide significant momentum to the overall development of the Malwa region.
