Bhopal: On the third day of the State-Level Wildlife Week 2025, at Van Vihar National Park, 57 participants from International Public School Bhopal and 13 participants from other educational institutions participated in the butterfly observation camp at 6 a.m. at Van Vihar National Park.
Children were thrilled to see various species of butterflies and received information from subject experts about them, including the Red Pierrot, Common Crow, Striped Tiger, Plain Tiger, Common Cerulean, Blue Tiger, Common Grass Aloe, and Lemon Pansy.
A treasure hunt competition was held during Wildlife Week from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 140 participants took part in the competition. Participants were given clues about various butterflies, birds, vultures, and mammals, and were given a quiz test. Various clues were hidden throughout Needham and Butterfly Park for participants to successfully retrieve. Students from grades 1 through college level and their parents participated enthusiastically in this competition.
A henna and palm painting competition on the theme of “Wildlife” was held from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. 32 participants participated in the henna competition and 46 in the palm painting competition. Participants created paintings of various wild animals and linked them to wildlife conservation.
Under the leadership of Director, Van Vihar, Mr. Vijay Kumar, Wildlife Week resource persons Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, Senior Deputy Conservator of Forests, Dr. Sangeeta Rajgir, Mohammad Khaliq, and other officers and staff were present. The program was conducted by Assistant Director, Van Vihar, Dr. Ruhi Haq.
October 4th Program
On the fourth day of Wildlife Week, October 4th, a bird watching camp will be organized for children from the underprivileged/Divyang from 6:00 am to 8:30 am, and a photography competition on the theme of “Van Vihar” will be held from 6:30 am to 11:30 am for students in grades 5 to 8 and 9 to college level.
Rangoli competitions will be held on the topic of “Forest and Wildlife” for classes 5 to 8 and on the topic of “Wildlife in Mythology” for classes 9 to college level. “Youth Parliament” will also be held for school and college students from 11 am to 1.30 pm.
