Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav met Christoph Haller, Consul General of Germany, at Samatva Bhavan (CM’s Residence) on Tuesday. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav welcomed Haller by presenting him with a bouquet and a framed photograph of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sanchi. Haller praised the beauty of Bhopal.
CM recalled his visit to Germany and said that it had been a highly fruitful experience. He noted that India and Germany share longstanding ties, which under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have entered a new phase of growth and cooperation. The two countries enjoy strong industrial and business relations, which are becoming increasingly robust. He emphasised that, in addition to industry and commerce, India and Germany would further strengthen cooperation in education.
CM highlighted the contributions of renowned German scholar Max Müller, who translated Indian scriptures and the Vedas into German and other languages. A distinguished Sanskrit scholar, Max Müller was also a great admirer of Swami Vivekananda’s exceptional intellect and natural brilliance.
CM noted that an interactive session was held in Munich, Germany, in November 2024 to promote collaboration between German technology and Madhya Pradesh’s rich natural and human resources. He reaffirmed Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Germany.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that German institutions are not only investing in Madhya Pradesh but are also supporting the promotion of German education and training in the State. Facilities for teaching German have been established in several higher educational institutions across Madhya Pradesh. He welcomed greater investment from German industries and noted that several investment proposals have been implemented in the State over the past two years.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav observed that this is an era in which major global languages can be studied and learned anywhere in the world. He said that many higher education institutions in Madhya Pradesh now offer German language and training, reflecting the aspirations of young people to learn foreign languages alongside Indian languages.
CM Dr. Yadav, responding to Haller’s invitation to visit Germany again, remarked that he would visit Germany not just once but many times in the future, and expressed confidence that the momentum of bilateral cooperation would continue to grow.
