Rinku Singh’s Father Passes Away: Team Indian cricketer Rinku Singh’s father, Khanchandra Singh, has passed away. He had been battling stage-4 liver cancer and his health suddenly worsened in recent days. He had undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors, but despite all efforts, he could not be saved. He breathed his last at the Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida.
Former spinner Harbhajan Singh confirmed the news via a social media post on Friday.
“Pained to learn about the demise of Shri Khanchand Singh Ji, father of Rinku Singh. This must be an especially difficult time for Rinku and his family, even as he remains committed to his responsibilities during the T20 World Cup,” Harbhajan wrote on X.
“My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones. May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength and courage to the bereaved family,” he added.
Khanchandra Singh had been on mechanical ventilator support for several days. His condition remained critical and he was receiving continuous renal replacement therapy. This was a very difficult time for the family. As soon as news of his father’s deteriorating condition was received, Rinku Singh left the national team and returned home immediately.
At that time, Team India was busy preparing for the ICC T20 World Cup. A practice session was underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, but Rinku did not participate. Later news emerged that his father was battling for his life. 28-year-old Rinku Singh, a resident of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, is considered a key player for Team India. His return home raised concerns among fans and the team management.
