Bhopal: It is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh that a total of 10 athletes from the Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy have been selected for the Indian rowing team announced for the Asian Games-2026. These include five current and five former athletes from the academy. This selection is a testament to the state’s developing rowing talent and robust training system.
The selected players include sailors from various disciplines, who will bring laurels to Madhya Pradesh by representing India at the international level.
Current academy players
Vashu Chandarvanshi has been selected in the ILCA-4 Boys category, Mahi Verma in the ILCA-4 Girls category, and Aryan Patidar in the IQ Foils Boys category. Eklavya Batham and Vanshika Sikharwar have been selected in the Mixed 420 class.
Former academy players also got a place
Shraddha Verma (Indian Navy) has been selected in the 470 mixed event. Harshita Tomar and Sheetal Verma (Indian Navy) have joined the Indian team in the 49er FX class. Manu (Indian Army) has been selected in the 49er class
