Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav demonstrated sensitive, humane and committed leadership by fulfilling the promise he had made to the international woman cricketer and talented Madhya Pradesh player Kranti Gaur.
Acting on his assurance, the long-suspended job of her father, Munna Singh, was restored on Monday. This decision has brought relief not only to the family but also stands as an example of the government’s sensitivity, respect for sportspersons, and commitment to justice.
It may be recalled that during a felicitation ceremony held after the historic victory of the Indian women’s cricket team in the Women’s One Day World Cup, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav had assured Kranti Goud that her father’s job would be reinstated. He has now honoured that assurance in accordance with the rules.
Following the Chief Minister’s directions, Police Headquarters reinstated Munna Singh into service. Notably, Munna Singh, who was serving as a constable in the Madhya Pradesh Police, had been suspended in 2012 on allegations of negligence during election duty. The matter, which had remained pending for the past 13 years, has now been resolved positively following the CM’s intervention.
Kranti Goud’s dream fulfilled
With this decision, the Goud family has received both economic and social support. It has also fulfilled Kranti Goud’s cherished dream of seeing her father retire with dignity in a police uniform.
