The 22nd convocation of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, was held on November 22. A total of 1,600 students were awarded degrees in various courses at the ceremony, including 72 PhDs.
Suhani Batra, a student of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), secured first place in her department with a 9.75 CGPA. She received a total of five gold medals. She is a resident of Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. Suhani stated that she has been working as a data engineer at Texas Instruments for the past three months.
Director General of Police and MANIT alumnus Kailash Makwana was the special guest at the ceremony. He announced the establishment of a Center of Public Safety at the institute. This center will conduct research and projects on various topics related to public safety. In his address, he also advised students to stay away from drugs.
The President of India Gold Medal for the 2024-25 session was awarded to Amber Tripathi, a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering. His CGPA was 9.87.
Gold medals were also awarded to students who secured first positions in various disciplines. Prominent names included Sanskar Gupta from Civil Engineering, Rohit Sen from Mechanical Engineering, Shishir Mishra from Electrical Engineering, Sushobhit Malik from Chemical Engineering, Tulsi Kumari from Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Yusuf Saifi from B.Arch., and Gajendra Lodhi from B.Planning.
Computer Science and Engineering awarded the highest number of B.Tech degrees, 230. Mechanical Engineering followed with 199, Electronics and Communications Engineering with 166, Electrical Engineering with 131, and Civil Engineering with 107. Degrees were awarded to 84 students in Architecture, 46 in Planning, 108 in MCA, 23 in MBA, 219 in M.Tech, 17 in M.Plan, 21 in MSc (Chemistry) and 14 in MSc (Physics).
