Bhopal: “Anti Ragging Awareness Week” was organized recently from 12 August to 18 August 2025 at Corporate Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal, as per the instructions of UGC and RGPV.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Bharat Kishore Gupta, Director, Corporate Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal. On this occasion, students were told about the ill effects of ragging and they were sworn in not to participate in ragging related activities.
Chief Guest Sushil Kumar Jain, Paryvaran Sanskriti Trust, highlighted the ill effects of ragging and told that if found involved in ragging related activities, the culprits can be expelled from the institute and imprisoned for up to three years under the Ragging Regulation Act. Complaints regarding ragging related activities can be made to UGC on toll free number 1800-180-5522. Anti-ragging committee and anti-ragging squad have been formed in the college, the list of which is displayed at various places in the institute.
Under anti-ragging awareness week, competitions like essay competition, speech competition, poster exhibition, slogan writing etc. were organized and the winning students of various competitions were awarded. The program was coordinated by Dr. Akhilesh Jain, Professor, Department of Mathematics.
