Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that life’s true progress begins where the Bhagavad Gita ends. The life of Lord Shri Krishna offers enduring ideals for society, inspiring people to learn from His experiences and the challenges He overcame. He described Lord Shri Krishna as a great champion of the democratic traditions of His time, who upheld both human and royal duties in every circumstance.
Dr. Yadav said that although Lord Shri Krishna defeated the powerful ruler Kansa, He never assumed the throne Himself or sought to be called a king. He always honoured His friendship with Sudama. The Chief Minister said the Madhya Pradesh government was developing places associated with the journeys of Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna as pilgrimage destinations through the Shri Ram Van Gaman Path and Shri Krishna Pathey initiatives. He assured full support and cooperation to researchers and institutions undertaking in-depth studies and comprehensive analyses of the life of Lord Shri Krishna.
CM addressed the Fourth National HR-CSR Conference, ‘Abhyudaya-2026’, at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre on Saturday. He inaugurated the two-day conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The conference will continue on October 25. During the programme, Padma Shri Dr. Agus Indra Udayana, who came from Indonesia, presented a traditional bell to the Chief Minister.
Lord Shri Krishna’s Life Offers Lessons in Leadership, Commitment and SocialWelfare: CM Mohan Yadav said that there was a need to reflect on how Lord Shri Krishna and other deities faced challenges in their lives and found ways to promote the welfare of society. Lord Shri Krishna was born in a prison, and both His parents and He endured hardships during His early life.
CM said Lord Shri Krishna remained steadfast in His commitments. He had promised Mother Yashoda that after defeating Kansa and returning from Mathura, He would eat butter from her hands.
Later, when He met Mother Devaki in prison and she offered Him butter, He declined because He had already promised Mother Yashoda that He would eat butter from her hands. Such episodes, the Chief Minister said, inspire people to move forward together with society. By wearing a peacock feather, Lord Shri Krishna also encouraged a tradition of reverence for nature.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Shri Krishna did not assume power even after defeating Kansa. After the Mahabharata war, He helped establish Yudhishthira on the throne. Even after settling in Dwarka with His family, He did not automatically place His own son on the throne, believing that responsibility should be entrusted to the deserving.
Similar principles were reflected during the era of Samrat Vikramaditya. Lord Shri Krishna and Samrat Vikramaditya, he said, never regarded kingship as a personal entitlement and remained committed to democratic values. Dwarka was established to encourage enterprise and social harmony.
Lord Shri Krishna’s Life Inspires Democratic Values and Social Harmony: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Shri Krishna and Sudama studied together at Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain. The state’s school education system was also progressing with an emphasis on social harmony and equality. He said that Lord Shri Krishna’s multifaceted personality offers lessons in democratic values, entrepreneurship, friendship, respect for parents and military discipline.
The Chief Minister added that Governance should be guided not by the prestige of a position but by the spirit of service, a strong sense of duty and the application of knowledge to research. Lord Shri Krishna’s defeat of Narakasura also represented an example of social justice. He said that similar programmes should be organised across the country to discuss the life and teachings of Lord Shri Krishna through the Shri Krishna Pathey initiative.
