A lecture on the topic “The Role of Teachers in Civic Duties” was organized by the Department of Indian Knowledge System at NITTTR Bhopal. The main speaker for the lecture was Vikrant Khandelwal, Sangathan Mantri, Bharat Vikas Parishad.
Khandelwal presented the concept of Indian educational philosophy in detail, stating that creation is not possible without sensitivity, therefore it is extremely important for teachers to be sensitive. Teachers should evaluate their own work and view education not only as a right but also as a duty.
“Rights and duties are the two wheels of a vehicle.” Rights are only valid when we fulfill our duties with full responsibility, and we should all cultivate a mindset of giving back to nature. “A person’s conduct in public life is their true identity. Life should not be merely successful, but meaningful, and teachers should contribute to instilling this inspiration. Considering the work of teachers as paramount, it was also stated that the future is shaped in the hands of teachers, and there is no greater virtue than education.
Dr. C.C. Tripathi, Director of NITTTR Bhopal, said that teachers are not merely dispensers of knowledge, but powerful agents of change in society. The sensitivity and dedication of teachers in fulfilling their duties create ideal citizens in society. We must further strengthen our education policy and teaching methods from this perspective, so that every citizen of our country becomes dutiful and responsible towards society.
Dean of Science and Head of IKS, Prof. P.K. Purohit, said that it is through the efforts of teachers that we can preserve our cultural heritage while moving towards new knowledge. This lecture gave us the opportunity to understand that the true purpose of education is not only academic success, but also the creation of a sensitive and responsible citizen. Mrs. Vandana Tripathi, Dr. R.K. Dixit, Dr. Ramendra Singh, and other officers and staff of the Institute were present on this occasion. The program was conducted by Mrs. Babli Chaturvedi.
