The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ plantation campaign, launched by the School Education Department in government schools across the state on June 5, 2025, has so far resulted in the planting of around 9.90 lakh saplings.
Details of the planted saplings have been uploaded to the Mission Life portal. Instructions have been issued to plant saplings in and around school campuses in the state with proper planning, and school principals have been directed to take adequate measures for their protection of the saplings. The campaign is being implemented in more than 92 thousand government schools across the state. will continue through Eco Clubs in schools until September 30.
Formation of Mission Life
Clubs for Mission Life have been established in government schools, under which more than 15 thousand Eco Clubs have been formed. These Eco Clubs primarily organize activities focused on environmental awareness, including essay competitions and initiatives under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
State-level school sports calendar released
The Directorate of Public Instruction has issued the school sports calendar for the academic session 2025–26, detailing the dates for state-level and national sports competitions as announced by the School Games Federation of India. Instructions regarding the schedule have been sent to the Divisional Joint Directors of Public Instruction and all District Education Officers.
The competitions will begin on September 8 and continue until December 10, 2025, as per the announced dates. Events will include boxing, judo, volleyball, football, tennis, cricket, gymnastics, mallakhamb, karate, chess, kabaddi, fencing, athletics, basketball, hockey, and other sports. Competitions will be held separately for boys and girls, categorized by age group.
State-Level Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Competition
The School Education Department has finalized the dates for the Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey School Competitions in the state. The Junior Hockey Tournament (under-15 age group) will be held from October 8 to 18, 2025, followed by the Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament (under-17 age group) from October 19 to 30, and the Nehru Boys Hockey Tournament (under-17 age group) from November 26 to December 6, 2025. The state-level competition related to these events will be organized in Seoni from August 24 to 30, 2025. Instructions in this regard have been issued to all District Education Officers.
