Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla reviewed the upgradation and expansion works of the Mukundpur White Tiger Safari at the Mantralaya. He instructed officials to take necessary action in accordance with the master plan.
Shukla stated that the expansion of the Mukundpur White Tiger Safari is a significant step that will provide a new direction not only for tourism but also for wildlife conservation, biodiversity enhancement, research, and public awareness in the state. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Samita Rajora was also present at the meeting.
Rajendra Shukla remarked that the Mukundpur White Tiger Safari is a unique identity of Madhya Pradesh and should be developed into a center of excellence for wildlife conservation and eco-tourism at the national level.
The meeting involved a review of the master plan prepared for the period from 2026-27 to 2045-46. Prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Zoo Authority (CZA), this master plan proposes expanding the safari to a total area of 241.86 hectares by incorporating an additional 119.87 hectares alongside the existing 121.99 hectares.
Deputy CM Shukla directed that priority be given to the establishment of animal enclosures featuring modern yet natural environments, conservation breeding centers, wildlife rescue facilities, world-class amenities for tourists, and an interactive education center focused on nature and wildlife conservation.
He emphasized that the implementation of each phase of the master plan must adhere to Central Zoo Authority standards, with special attention paid to animal welfare, natural habitat-based design, environmental sustainability, and visitor management.
