The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, organized a three-day training program titled “Gram Utkarsh – The Rural Excellence Initiative” for rural tourism (home-stay) entrepreneurs from Madhya Pradesh. Participants from various villages across the state attended the program.
Dr. Manoj Singh, Director of the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department and the chief guest at the closing session, expressed gratitude to NITTTR Bhopal. Interacting with the rural entrepreneurs, he urged them to effectively utilize the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their respective villages and to take Madhya Pradesh’s rural tourism to new heights.
Dr. C.C. Tripathi, Director of NITTTR Bhopal, stated that this training would not only give a new direction to rural tourism but also create new opportunities for employment and self-employment for local youth and entrepreneurs.
Prof. P.K. Purohit, Dean (Science) and Head (IKS), remarked that such training programs are significant initiatives towards strengthening rural entrepreneurship, skill development, and the Indian knowledge tradition; these rural entrepreneurs serve as inspiring examples of progress rooted in culture.
As part of the program, Shri Jitendra Chaturvedi provided practical insights on the effective use of social media and digital promotion, guiding participants on how to attractively promote their home-stays via digital platforms, create high-quality content, and reach online customers.
In a special session themed “Atithi Devo Bhava” (The Guest is God), Shri Atul Samadhiya highlighted the significance of the Indian tradition of hospitality.
During a session on women’s empowerment and rural entrepreneurship, Smt. Monika Jain delivered a lecture on the pivotal role women play in the rural economy. Additionally, participants were provided with detailed information regarding various Madhya Pradesh government schemes aimed at encouraging home-stay entrepreneurs.
During the closing session, the dignitaries present discussed the training experience with the participants. Smt. Vandana Tripathi, Smt. Gayatri Joshi, Shri P.K. Sinha, and other officials attended the session, which was conducted by Smt. Babli Chaturvedi.
