Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that ‘Adarsh Anganwadi Kendras’ (Model Anganwadi Centers) serve as the first school for the holistic development of children. The government is providing all necessary facilities at Anganwadi centers to support the physical and mental growth of young children.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks on Wednesday while inspecting the ‘Saksham Adarsh Anganwadi Kendra’ at Suez Farm, Ujjain, and participating in a program for the distribution of benefits. He also visited and appreciated the nutrition exhibition organized by the Women and Child Development Department as part of ‘Nutrition Week’.
Expressing his satisfaction, Dr. Yadav noted that fully equipped permanent buildings, furniture, toys, nutritious food, health check-ups, vaccinations, and early childhood education are all being provided to Anganwadi children under one roof. The government’s objective is to ensure the holistic development of children.
CM inspected the facilities at the Anganwadi center and interacted with the children. He also examined the food zone, health check-up room, and medicine room at the center. Ujjain Collector Roshan Kumar Singh briefed him on the activities being conducted at the Anganwadi center.
Ancient Connection Between Lord Jagannath and Ujjain
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Lord Jagannath has had a connection with Ujjain spanning thousands of years. King Indrasen of Ujjain had commissioned the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath in Bhubaneswar, the capital of present-day Odisha. Idols of Gopal Krishna, Lord Balarama, and their sister Subhadra are consecrated there. The Jagannath Puri pilgrimage site in Odisha holds special significance among the ‘Char Dham’ (four sacred abodes) of Sanatan culture.
Dr. Yadav mentioned that due to a pre-scheduled visit to New Delhi, he would be unable to participate in the Jagannath Rath Yatra event in Ujjain on Thursday. He offered prayers and sought blessings at the Lord Jagdish Temple located at Kartik Chowk in Ujjain.
Dr. Yadav pushed children on swings
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav pushed children on the swings installed at the Model Anganwadi Centre. At the centre, children greeted him with “Namaste Sir” and welcomed him by presenting a rose. While affectionately interacting with the young children, the Chief Minister distributed packets of laddus and packets of gram and peanuts as nutritional supplements.
Distribution of benefits
From the stage, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav distributed assurance certificates to beneficiaries of the Ladli Laxmi Yojana and benefits to eligible women under the Matru Vandana Yojana. He affectionately interacted with the girl beneficiaries of the Ladli Laxmi Yojana and extended his best wishes for their bright future.
Felicitation with a giant garland
At the event, officials and employees of the Women and Child Development Department who had received promotions, along with Anganwadi workers and helpers appointed through the online process, felicitated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav with a giant garland and expressed their gratitude.
CM planted saplings
After inspecting the Model Anganwadi Centre, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav planted saplings of mango, Peepal, banyan, neem, drumstick (Surjana), and guava within the centre’s premises. He did so to convey a message of environmental conservation and to raise awareness about tree plantation, supporting the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A Tree in Mother’s Name) campaign. He appealed to everyone to plant at least one sapling under this campaign.
