Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will attend the closing ceremony of Adirang Shilpkar Mahotsav 2026 on Tuesday, June 23, at the campus of the National Institute of Design Madhya Pradesh (NID MP), Acharpura, Bhopal. The five-day festival is being jointly organised by NID Madhya Pradesh and Vanya, under the Tribal Affairs Department.
During the event, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will visit an exhibition showcasing innovative products and design interventions developed by tribal artisans. He will also interact with artisans, design experts and participants. Tribal Affairs Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah will be the chief guest. The programme will highlight ongoing efforts in tribal art, handicrafts, livelihood enhancement, and design-driven innovation.
More than 140 tribal artisans from various regions of Madhya Pradesh are participating in the festival. Artisans belonging to tribal communities such as the Bhil, Gond, and Baiga will showcase their traditional arts, crafts, and handmade products. Through design intervention workshops organised during the festival, artisans have developed new market-oriented products with the support of NID Madhya Pradesh faculty members and student volunteers.
A special exhibition featuring products and design concepts developed during these workshops will also be organised as part of the closing ceremony. The exhibition will be open to the public from 5:30 PM onwards, allowing visitors to explore the innovative creations. Original artworks and handicraft products displayed by artisans from Bhil, Gond, Baiga and other tribal communities will also be available for purchase.
Adirang Shilpkar Mahotsav is a significant initiative that provides a broader platform for tribal art, culture, and traditional knowledge while creating new market opportunities and sustainable livelihood avenues for artisans. Organised through the joint efforts of NID Madhya Pradesh and Vanya, the festival is emerging as a powerful example of the harmonious integration of tradition and design innovation.
