Bhopal/Dewas: Long-distance fatigue and neglect of health are often major causes of road accidents. Keeping this in mind, Project Niramaya has emerged as a lifesaving initiative for truck drivers on the Dewas–Bhopal highway.
What is Project Niramaya?
It is a joint CSR initiative by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, Highway Infrastructure Trust (DBCPL), and Apollo Foundation, Hyderabad. The project aims to provide free healthcare services directly at the workplace of drivers and cleaners who are constantly on the move along the highway.

• Mobile Medical Unit: Operational from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, covering key locations between Bairagarh and Dewas, including major dhabas and toll plazas (Fanda, Amlaha, Bhorasa).
• Free Medical Facilities: Health check-ups, distribution of medicines, and consultations by experienced doctors.
• Advanced Care: Telemedicine consultations with Apollo specialists and regular follow-up for serious patients.
• Vision Care: Eye check-ups and free distribution of spectacles to help reduce road accidents caused by poor vision.

A Transformative Impact
According to corridor management, this project is not just a healthcare service but a compassionate effort towards safeguarding drivers—often considered the backbone of the nation’s economy. The Dewas–Bhopal route is no longer just a highway; it is now evolving into a “Safe Health Corridor.”
