Beautiful, rosy lips enhance your complexion, but constant lipstick use and a poor lifestyle can lead to dark and chapped lips. Expensive products often exacerbate this problem. However, two magical ingredients hidden in your kitchen can restore soft and pink lips.
In today’s fast-paced lives, lipsticks and lip tints have become a part of our lifestyle. However, the lead and other chemicals present in them can damage the delicate skin of the lips in the long run, a condition known as lip pigmentation. Furthermore, the accumulation of dead skin can cause lips to appear dull. Therefore, exfoliating your lips regularly is as important as exfoliating your face.
To make a lip scrub at home, you only need two ingredients: Sugar and Honey.
Sugar
It is an excellent natural exfoliator. Its fine granules gently remove dead skin deposits on the lips and increase blood circulation.
Honey
Honey is a natural humectant (increase moisture retention) that locks in moisture in the lips. It has anti-bacterial properties that help heal chapped lips.
How to Apply
Take one teaspoon of lightly coarse powdered sugar in a small bowl.
Add half a teaspoon of pure honey to it.
Apply this paste to your lips with your fingers and gently rub in circular motions for 2-3 minutes.
Afterward, rinse with lukewarm water and apply a light moisturizer or ghee.
You can also add two drops of lemon juice
If your lips have become very dark, you can also add two drops of lemon juice to this scrub. Lemon is a natural bleaching agent that helps fade dark spots quickly.
Rubbing a slice of beetroot on your lips before bed is another time-tested and effective remedy for pink lips. Using this homemade scrub twice a week can restore your lips’ lost shine.
