Sunil Goyal, Gwalior: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated at VISM Group of Studies, Gwalior with grandeur, joy and deep patriotic spirit. The entire campus reverberated with the colors of freedom, echoing the vision of a strong and secure India.
The ceremony began with Chairperson Mrs. Saroj Rathore hoisting the Tricolor amidst resounding cheers of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. In her address, she called upon students and faculty to unite in action, dedicating their efforts to the nation’s progress. Our strength lies in collective responsibility. Together, we can shape India into a secure and powerful nation, Mrs. Rathore said.
Adding grace to the occasion, Chairman Dr. Sunil Rathore and Group Director Dr. Priyanka Singh were present as guests of honor. Their presence inspired both students and faculty to embrace the ideals of discipline, education and innovation as tools of nation-building.
The day witnessed a spectacular NCC parade, where cadets marched in harmony and saluted the national flag with pride. A floral tribute was paid to Mahatma Gandhi, followed by prayers to Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing wisdom and values at the heart of education.
The highlight of the celebrations was a series of cultural performances from patriotic songs to thematic skits operation sindoor and pulwama attack that reflected India’s journey of freedom and unity in diversity. A plantation drive by Pharmacy students added an environmental message to the festivities, reminding all that nation building goes hand in hand with sustainability.
A particularly emotional moment came when students remembered the supreme sacrifices of soldiers during Operation Sindoor, describing their blood as the true color of sacrifice that protects the nation. The gathering also paid homage to the martyrs of the Pulwama attack, observing silence and saluting their valor, reminding everyone of the high cost of freedom and security.
The Stretcher Ceremony further added pride to the occasion as responsibilities were formally handed over to the next line of NCC leaders. Himanshu Singh (B.Sc Nursing, 2nd Year), Harshit Rana (B.Sc Nursing, 2nd Year), and Shivani Thakur (BPT, 2nd Year) were honored as Under Officers, carrying forward the spirit of leadership and service.
In his stirring speech, Dr. Sunil Rathore reminded everyone that Independence Day is not just a festival but a solemn reminder of responsibilities towards the nation. This day inspires us to serve the country with discipline, education and innovation. Only disciplined and responsible citizens can transform India into a global power, he said.
The program concluded with an oath-taking ceremony, where cadets and students pledged to dedicate themselves to nation building. The campus came alive with slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and a vibrant spirit of unity, patriotism and pride.
