Indepandence Day 2026: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal.
On this occasion, the Institute’s Director, Prof. C.C. Tripathi, addressed former and current officials, faculty members, staff, students, research scholars, and young associates.
Paying tribute to the sacrifices of both renowned and unsung heroes of the freedom struggle, Prof. Tripathi stated that independence is not merely a right but a symbol of duty, responsibility, and a resolve for nation-building. Today, India is advancing towards a new trajectory of development driven by youth power, knowledge, technology, and innovation.
Prof. Tripathi said that in this context, the role of technical education becomes even more crucial. The objective of technical education should not be limited to producing engineers; rather, it should aim to create competent human resources capable of understanding the country’s complex social and technical challenges and developing effective solutions for them.
Highlighting NITTTR Bhopal’s achievements and contributions spanning six decades, Prof. Tripathi noted that the Institute has continuously embraced new dimensions in education and training alongside improving the quality of technical education. He also emphasized the need to integrate the Indian knowledge tradition with modern science and technical education, in alignment with the spirit of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The purpose of education is not just to impart knowledge to students but also to foster an understanding of pride in, and a sense of responsibility towards their cultural roots. By harmonizing tradition with modern science, an educational system can be developed that shapes students into knowledgeable, skilled, and sensitive citizens committed to nation-building.
