Bhopal: Khazana Independence Edit 2026, dedicated to the rich traditions of Indian art, crafts and design, will be inaugurated on August 14 at Taj Lakefront, Bhopal.
Organised jointly by Khazana, Begums of Bhopal and Women Education Empowerment Society (WEES), the three-day event will bring together traditional Indian handicrafts, exquisite handmade products, women entrepreneurs, artisans and contemporary designers on a common platform. The exhibition aims to connect Indian heritage with modern luxury and social responsibility.
Khazana, a platform of the Taj Group dedicated to promoting Indian art, crafts and design, works to discover and preserve India’s diverse creative traditions while creating new markets and opportunities for artisans and craftspeople.
Paramveer Singh, General Manager, Taj Lakefront, Bhopal, said that “Khazana – The Independence Edit 2026” is an initiative to honour and support India’s rich craft traditions. The objective is to connect artisans and creators with a wider audience and introduce visitors to the beauty of Indian crafts as well as the dedication and craftsmanship behind them.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday August 14 at 5:00 PM by Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang. Live demonstrations by participating artisans and designers, showcasing traditional techniques such as Zari-Zardozi, pottery and hand-painted textiles, will be among the key attractions.
On August 15, Independence Day, the exhibition will remain open to the general public throughout the day from 10:00 AM. Visitors will be able to explore collections across textiles, jewellery, crafts, accessories, art, home décor and gifting.
The event will also provide visitors with an opportunity to experience Indian creativity and entrepreneurship more closely through live demonstrations and interactions with artisans. On the final day, August 16, visitors will have another opportunity to explore the special exhibition and interact with participating entrepreneurs and artisans.
