Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang met the athletes from the state who have qualified for the upcoming Asian Games-2026 at T.T. Nagar Stadium in Bhopal on Tuesday to boost their morale.
During the interaction, he engaged in a cordial dialogue with the athletes, discussing their preparations, training, fitness, and upcoming competitions in detail; he extended his best wishes and urged them to represent the country with utmost dedication and self-confidence.
Sarang stated that the selection of a large number of athletes from Madhya Pradesh for a prestigious international event like the Asian Games is a matter of pride and honor for the entire state. This achievement is the result of the athletes’ tireless hard work, the dedication of their coaches, and the continuous efforts made by the state government to develop sports.
Sarang said that Madhya Pradesh is establishing a strong identity as a leading sports state in the country, and its athletes are consistently bringing glory to the state through outstanding performances in national and international competitions.
Minister Sarang emphasized that the state government is continuously working towards the holistic development of sports. Athletes are being provided with high-level training, scientific coaching, sports science support, nutrition, accommodation, and other essential facilities so that they can showcase their best talent at the international level.
It is noteworthy that 22 athletes from Madhya Pradesh have qualified across various sports disciplines for the upcoming Asian Games. These include athletes from various disciplines such as athletics, shooting (rifle and shotgun), canoe slalom, canoeing, kayaking, judo, and equestrian sports. The state holds high expectations for these athletes to deliver outstanding performances and win medals.
