Madhya Pradesh mountaineer Jyoti Ratre paid a courtesy visit to the Minister for Sports, and Youth Welfare, Vishwas Kailash Sarang, in Bhopal on Saturday.
Minister Sarang congratulated her on her historic achievement of bringing glory to the nation by successfully hoisting the Tricolour atop the 5,636-meter (18,491-foot) peak of Pico de Orizaba in Mexico.
Minister Sarang remarked that Jyoti Ratre’s courage, determination, discipline, tireless hard work, and dedication to the nation serve as a powerful source of inspiration for the younger generation.
He expressed confidence that she would continue to scale new heights of success and bring honor to both the country and Madhya Pradesh at national and international levels.
Sarang stated that the achievements of the state’s athletes and talented youth involved in adventure sports are earning Madhya Pradesh a new identity.
He said the state government is continuously striving to encourage sports and adventure activities and to nurture talent.
By hoisting the Tricolour atop Mexico’s Pico de Orizaba peak, Jyoti Ratre has become the country’s oldest female mountaineer to hoist the Indian national flag on the highest volcanoes across three continents.
This achievement is a source of pride and inspiration not only for Madhya Pradesh but for the entire nation.
