Time passes, yet it never truly ends, for time is everything. Reminiscing about the past, the students of Class Eleven at St. Joseph’s Convent School, Idgah Hills, gave a heartwarming farewell to their seniors of Class Twelve. A vibrant cultural program based on the theme “Echoes of Time” was organized on the school premises for the occasion.
The Class Twelve students, elegantly dressed in beautiful Saris, looked resplendent and unique, and were welcomed traditionally by the Class Eleven students. The program began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a prayer service, seeking God’s blessings on every student so that everyone could understand the importance of the past, the present moment, and the future.
The prayer service concluded with a colorful prayer dance based on the devotional hymn, “He who created this world, I praise Him every moment.”
Principal Dr. Sister Lily, in her address to the Class Twelve students, offered valuable guidance. She began her address with a quote by Henry David Thoreau, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams and live the life you have imagined.” She further added, “The school motto ‘Virtue Makes Great’ will always be with you as you step out of the school gates into the world.” She gave the students her loving blessings and said, “Be a light wherever you go.”
The Class Eleven choir presented a melodious and captivating medley to set the mood for the program. This medley was not just a collection of beautiful songs, but a journey of the heart. An energetic folk dance captivated everyone’s attention and won the hearts of the audience. A student, Sanghamitra Kumari, expressed her emotions through a poem.
The graduating students were given various awards based on their merit. The prestigious Miss SJC award was given to Kanishka Chaporkar, and the runner-up award went to Alvira Khan. Several students received awards for 100% attendance.
A meaningful and thought-provoking closing ceremony was presented on the theme “Echoes of Time.” It conveyed the message that time manifests itself in our lives in many ways, and as the sands of time slip through the hourglass, a student’s life is continuously shaped like a diamond under precise pressure within the school premises, preparing students for life’s challenges and shaping their future.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the school’s Head Girl, Vania Alam.
