Shahdol: Collector Dr. Kedar Singh has set an example of humanitarian initiative. Akanksha Tripathi, a class 10 student studying in Mahila Samiti Higher Secondary School Shahdol, who commutes to school from Degma village, 3 km away, near Budhi Mata Temple.
During the collector’s visit to the school, in a discussion with the school students regarding education, information was received about the difficulties of student Akanksha.
Akanksha told that I am a resident of village Degma in Umaria district. She told that due to the poor financial condition of the house, it is not possible to buy a bicycle to commute to school. Akanksha also informed about other family difficulties.
Collector Dr. Kedar Singh took the problems of the student seriously and called the student to the Collector’s office and provided a bicycle purchased with his own money. Akanksha’s face lit up with a smile as soon as she received the bicycle.
Expressing happiness, she said that now I will not have any problem in commuting to school. I will be able to fulfill my dreams by reaching school on time by bicycle. This initiative of the Collector has given new wings to Akanksha’s dreams.
