
In a major escalation along the India-Pakistan border, the Indian Air Force has successfully shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet that had taken off from Sargodha Airbase.
The Indian SAM (Surface-to-air missile) shot down the fighter jet near the Sargodha air base, sources said. F-16 is one of the mainstays of the Pakistani air force, which has Chinese and French fighter jets.
According to reports, Pakistan has fired rockets on Jammu airport and heavy shelling is also going on in Samba and many J&K areas. In view of this tense situation, a blackout has been imposed in RS Pura area of Jammu and sirens are sounding here. Mobile network is also not working in Jammu city. There is also news of rocket attack on Satwari camp. Apart from this, heavy shelling is also being done by Pakistan in Kupwara.
However, India’s S-400 missile defense system has successfully destroyed Pakistani missiles and shot down 8 missiles, demonstrating India’s military strength.
Heavy firing has also started in Poonch, Kupwara and Samba areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Sounds of firing are coming from both sides, while a blackout has been imposed in these areas.
Due to the tense atmosphere in the area, panic has spread among the people. On hearing the sound of firing, people immediately switched off their lights. At present, vigilance has been increase in the entire area. People are scared and are trying to stay safe in their homes. The administration has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and stay calm.
In response to the aerial threat, the Indian military has fully activated its air defense systems across Jammu and Kashmir. Precautionary blackouts have been implemented in sensitive areas including Jammu city, Vaishno Devi temple complex, and Udhampur, as a security measure to prevent visibility for aerial threats.
