A five-day international training program, titled “Outcome-Based Curriculum Development for Electrical and Electronics Programs (Phase-2)” and “Outcome-Based Curriculum Development for Civil Engineering Programs (Phase-2),” was successfully conducted at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, from November 1 to 5, 2026, in collaboration with the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC).
Building upon the theoretical foundation established during Phase-1 in Nepal, this second phase involved 31 participants from eight prominent Nepalese universities—Tribhuvan, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Purbanchal, Manmohan Technical, Far-Western, Mid-Western, and Lumbini University.
The participants, including NEC Chairman Prof. Padma Bahadur Shahi and Board Member Engineer Gajendra Kumar Jha, engaged in practical exercises such as mapping course outcomes (COs) to learning methodologies, outlining capstone projects, developing rubrics for these projects, and creating high-level assessment questions for outcome-based curricula.
Prof. C. C. Tripathi, Director of the Institute, and Dr. Sanjay Agarwal, Dean (Academic)—who laid the groundwork for this initiative—described the program as a historic step toward strengthening technical education in the region in alignment with international accreditation standards. The program was efficiently coordinated and facilitated by NITTTR, Bhopal faculty members Prof. A. S. Walke, Prof. S. S. Kedar, Dr. R. K. Dixit, and Prof. Chanchal Mehra.
