The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, in collaboration with the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC), organized a five-day training program on “Outcome-Based Curriculum Development (Phase-2)” for programs in Computer, Software, and IT Engineering, as well as Architecture. The program was attended by faculty members from various universities in Nepal, including Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University, Far Western University, and Mid Western University.
During the program, the Institute’s Director, Dr. C. C. Tripathi, emphasized the need to develop engineering education based on an outcome-oriented approach, aligning it with global standards. He commended the efforts of the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) toward improving the quality and global competitiveness of technical education in Nepal. NEC Board members, Er. Tek Raj Subedi and Er. Dipendra Kumar Bariyat, were present as special guests at the inaugural ceremony.
Throughout the training, NITTTR faculty members—Dr. Sanjay Agrawal, Dr. Anju Rawalle, Dr. R. K. Kapoor, and Dr. Nishith Dubey—provided instruction on modern teaching-learning methodologies and outcome assessment techniques. Through practical exercises and group activities, participants gained experience in developing outcome-based curricula, designing capstone projects, creating assessment rubrics, and formulating questions that foster higher-order thinking skills.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the NEC, Prof. Padma Bahadur Shahi, who served as the chief guest. Praising the training program, he expressed confidence that it would prove instrumental in implementing an outcome-based curriculum system across universities in Nepal, thereby enhancing both the quality and global competitiveness of engineering education.
