A lecture titled “Autonomous Vehicle for Next Generation” was organized at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, for science and engineering students, delivered by Dr. Rajesh Tiwari, Principal Scientist at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
During the lecture, Dr. Tiwari emphasized that science and technology are truly meaningful only when applied for the benefit of society. He highlighted the utility of autonomous vehicles, advanced navigation technologies, multi-sensor-based positioning systems, and vehicle-to-vehicle communication. He explained that these technologies could aid in road safety, traffic management, and fuel conservation.
Addressing challenges such as cybersecurity, communication reliability, and environmental protection, he noted that cyberattacks, information reliability, and digital privacy are major concerns in vehicle-to-vehicle communication; therefore, it is essential to accord equal priority to cybersecurity, secure digital communication, and environmental protection during the development of autonomous transport systems.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Chandra Charu Tripathi, Director of NITTTR Bhopal, stated that the true objective of science and technology should be to develop solutions that benefit society. Autonomous vehicles and advanced navigation systems are among the key technologies of the future. Such expert lectures play a vital role in connecting students with the latest technological developments, fostering a scientific mindset, and inspiring them towards research and innovation.
Dr. P.K. Purohit, Dean of the Science Department, expressed great pride and happiness, noting that Dr. Rajesh Tiwari has earned global recognition in the fields of technology and research and has brought laurels to India through his achievements. His success serves as a source of inspiration for students and young researchers. This achievement demonstrates that international excellence can be attained through dedication, persistent hard work, and commitment to research. The association of distinguished experts like Dr. Tiwari with the institute offers students a valuable opportunity to broaden their knowledge, explore new dimensions of research, and prepare themselves for future technological challenges.
The program was conducted by Dr. Soumi Chatterjee, and the vote of thanks was given by Major Nishant Ojha.
