As part of the State-level Wildlife Week 2026, various programs and competitions are being organized at Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal, with the aim of raising public awareness regarding wildlife conservation, biodiversity, environmental protection, and nature. The theme for this year’s State-level Wildlife Week is “Connected Habitats, Wildlife Flourishing.”
Activities organized under this theme highlight the relationship between wildlife and their natural habitats, biodiversity conservation, and the importance of human-wildlife coexistence. Participation from forest personnel and their families, as well as school and college students, youth, and general citizens, is being ensured. Various programs were held at Van Vihar National Park on October 4th.
A family wildlife day was organized for forest personnel and their families to involve them in Wildlife Week activities. The event took place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Its objective was to foster awareness and participation in wildlife conservation among forest personnel and their families, and to connect family members with wildlife and nature conservation. Participants engaged enthusiastically in various activities.
Approximately 60 nature enthusiasts from 15 families took part in the event. Engaging information was provided to all attendees through activities involving animal races, games, and demonstrations regarding habitats and food chains.
Mehendi Competition on the Theme ‘Wildlife of Madhya Pradesh’ for School and College Students: A Mehendi competition themed ‘Wildlife of Madhya Pradesh’ was organized with the aim of fostering interest and awareness among school and college students regarding the state’s wildlife heritage and biodiversity. Students participated by showcasing themes related to wildlife, birds, flora, and nature through their artistic expressions. A total of 55 participants took part in the competition.
Palm Painting Competition on the Theme ‘Wildlife of Madhya Pradesh’ for School and College Students: A palm painting competition themed ‘Wildlife of Madhya Pradesh’ was organized to cultivate creative thinking among youth and students regarding wildlife conservation. Through their paintings, participants creatively depicted Madhya Pradesh’s wildlife, their habitats, and messages related to nature conservation. A total of 82 participants took part in this competition.
