Mumbai: Actress Rukmini Vasanth has described her upcoming film, ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’, as vastly different from any of her previous work.
Speaking at the film’s music launch, Rukmini remarked that ‘Toxic’ holds a special place for both her and everyone associated with the project. She was captivated by the film’s expansive world and grand scale the moment she first heard about it.
She said that the film’s appeal extends beyond its magnificent scale; the complexity of its characters also makes it unique. Each character possesses shades of grey and feels incredibly raw and human.
Regarding her character, Melissa, Rukmini expressed excitement about discovering where Melissa fits into this vast cinematic world and understanding her connections with the other characters.
Reflecting on the experience of working with Yash, she described sharing the screen with him as a fantastic experience, especially given that she was already a fan of his work.
Rukmini added that ‘Toxic’ is particularly special because audiences have never seen her in a world or character like this before. The film stands apart from all her previous projects and possesses a unique quality.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’ features Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi in lead roles. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.
