Bhopal: The ‘Sitara’ exhibition is being organized at Gauhar Mahal, Bhopal, commencing on Friday, May 15, 2026. Running until May 19, this exhibition will feature 75 skilled artisans and craftsmen from various states across the country, who will showcase their local and traditional products.
The primary objective of the exhibition is to provide a platform specifically to women who work from home and contribute to society through their artistic and crafting skills. The exhibition features a diverse range of products, including Silk Banarasi, Bagh Print, Chanderi, and Kota Doria sarees; silk shawls from Bhagalpur; traditional Assamese handicrafts; carpets; crockery; furniture; and various other lifestyle-related items.
Sanjana Rajput, the exhibition’s coordinator, stated that the aim of this event is to offer artists an opportunity to showcase their talents and to facilitate their economic empowerment. Sanjana further explained that 35 artisans will display their art in the ‘Diwan-e-Aam’ section of Gauhar Mahal, 25 in the ‘Diwan-e-Khas’ section, and 15 in the outer precincts of the palace.
Artists from different states have presented their unique craftsmanship at the exhibition, offering a glimpse not only of traditional textiles and sarees but also of furniture, home décor, and lifestyle products. Furthermore, several stalls at the exhibition offer delectable cuisines and culinary varieties from various states, allowing visitors to enjoy a holistic experience that combines both art and gastronomy.
