Bharatpur,: A wave of joy swept through wildlife enthusiasts after Tigress T-133—a first-time mother—was spotted with her two cubs at the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.
Forest Department sources stated on Sunday that forest personnel, while on patrol in the Gandhariya Dah forest area of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, sighted two cubs belonging to the territory dominated by Tigress T-133. Currently, the Forest Department is maintaining continuous surveillance of the tigress using camera traps to ascertain the exact number of cubs.
Sources added that following the sighting of these two new cubs, the total population of tigers, tigresses, and cubs within the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve has now reached 78.
The tiger is the main predator along with leopard. The other carnivores and scavengers include
hyena, jungle cat, caracal, jackals and wolves.
