NP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav met with eminent citizens of Barwani district on Monday during the first Agriculture Cabinet meeting held in Nangalwadi. He listened to the experiences of NRLM’s Lakhpati Didis, national-level players, and progressive farmers, and extended his best wishes to them.
Seema Nargawe of village Bhagsur in Barwani district, popularly known as Drone Didi, shared her journey in the Nimadi dialect with the Chief Minister. She said that after joining a self-help group under the Rural Livelihood Mission, she received training in organic farming and drone operation. She is now training other women in organic farming practices.
Seema informed that by joining the self-help group, not only has her income increased, but she has also gained a distinct identity. Through drone technology, she sprays fertilisers and pesticides in fields, reducing hours of manual work to just minutes, while ensuring a regular source of income.
During the interaction, national-level hockey player Sneha Mohaniya informed the Chief Minister that she has won two gold medals and one silver medal at the national level. She requested the provision of an astro-turf facility in Barwani for better training. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav accepted the request and assured that the facility would be made available.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also interacted with national-level air rifle shooter Vaishnavi Mahule from Julwania. CM Mohan Yadav directed the officials present to ensure her training at the State-level Shooting Academy. He announced an incentive of Rs 5 lakh for Neeraj, who runs a shooting training centre in Julwania, in recognition of his commendable efforts in training girls.
Progressive farmer Mahesh Patidar from village Ghatwa in Barwani district informed the CM about his product, Jaggery Tea. He said that he had availed a loan of Rs 28 lakh under the PMFME scheme, which included a subsidy of Rs 10 lakh. Currently, he sells 500 quintals of packaged jaggery tea annually and aims to increase this to 1,000 quintals per year in the future. His product is also available on Amazon and other online platforms.
Amol Mahajan from Barwani district also shared his entrepreneurial journey. He said that he previously worked in the United States but later left his job to start a banana production venture in India. Today, his bananas are exported to several countries, including Dubai, Iran and Iraq. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav praised his achievement.
