Bhopal: At 9 PM Indian time, which was approximately 10 AM in St. Louis, USA, an event was organized by the HindiUSA St. Louis organization. Over 100 children of all ages, dressed in colorful attire, began reciting poems in Hindi, creating the impression that you were witnessing this wonderful performance in an Indian school. You wouldn’t believe that these children, living in a country like America, were speaking such pure Hindi and reciting their own original poems.
Seeing the children, most of whom were born in America, learning and embracing the language of their heritage with such enthusiasm and pride was truly inspiring. This was the observation of Professor P.K. Purohit, Dean of Corporate and International Relations at NITTTR Bhopal, who attended the event as a special guest. This scene was not just a celebration, but also a testament to the invaluable tradition of Indian culture, which HindiUSA St. Louis has been dedicated to preserving for years.
Indian Culture Finds a Strong Voice in St. Louis
Many leaders from various organizations, judges, and special guests were also present at the event. Connecting children to Indian culture and values in the USA is not always easy. But such occasions serve as examples for us to teach Indian culture to students through these activities!
According to Mayank Jain and Dr. Anshu Jain, founders of Hindi School of USA and HindiUSA St. Louis, our organization sends children born and raised in America to India to familiarize them with India’s cultural heritage. There, they visit religious and historical sites such as Varanasi, Ayodhya, Udaipur, and Mathura, allowing them to learn about and take pride in India’s rich intellectual tradition.
They said most of the people associated with our organization are engineers who volunteer their time to teach Hindi and Indian culture to children. We organize Indian festivals, celebrate the birthdays of prominent figures, and hold other cultural events in which everyone participates.
NITTTR Bhopal may provide support
Upon Mayank Jain’s request for formal training for the teachers associated with this organization, Professor C.C. Tripathi, Director of NITTTR Bhopal, stated that his institute would consider it an honor to provide all possible support to this organization engaged in the noble cause of promoting Indian culture and the Hindi language globally.
