Mathura: Wildlife SOS successfully rescued approximately 1300 wild animals in Agra and surrounding areas during the year 2025.
In collaboration with the Forest Department, Wildlife SOS conducted extensive rescue operations throughout the year, and among the rescued animals, over 600 reptiles were rescued and released into safe habitats. These included crocodiles, monitor lizards, and several species of snakes such as wolf snakes, pythons, and cobras, many of which were found inside residential areas, schools, commercial establishments, and farms.
The organization also rescued 433 mammals, including nilgai, hog deer, hyenas, a leopard cub, sambar deer, and several monkeys. Additionally, 295 birds were rescued, including Indian peafowl, egrets, and eagles.
Kartik Satyanarayan, Co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, said, “2025 has been both challenging and inspiring. Despite the increasing threats to wildlife due to unpredictable weather and human pressures, our team continued to respond swiftly and effectively. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and the support of the Forest Department.”
