MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday visited the sacred temple at Punoura Dham, Sitamarhi in Bihar, the birthplace of Maa Janaki, and offered prayers & worship to Janaki Maiya.
CM performed the aarti of Janaki Maiya and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of all the citizens of Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister was accorded a traditional welcome in the temple premises by the priests and local devotees, who honored him with a turban and shawl. He gathered information about the historical and religious significance of the temple and said that the birthplace of Mata Janaki (Punoura Dham) is a magnificent confluence of Indian culture, faith, and architectural art.
CM stated that Mata Janaki was an embodiment of devotion and sacrifice. On behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh, he bowed at her feet and prayed for the welfare of all. A large number of devotees were present in the temple premises during the visit of the CM, and the entire atmosphere resonated with chants in praise of Mata Janaki.
Addressing the media after the darshan & worship at Punoura Dham, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that he was fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit the birthplace of Mata Janaki. This place reminds us of the era of Lord Shri Ram’s Ramrajya, the swayamvar and marriage ceremony of Maa Sita, and her departure from here to Ayodhya. He said that the life of Lord Shri Ram continues to inspire us all.
