Deepawali was celebrated with zeal, enthusiasm, and religious fervour in Campion School Bhopal, recently by the secondary section students before the Deepawali holidays.
Various cultural programmes, folk songs and dances, skits, and a ramp walk were organised.
The programme began with the Lighting of the Lamp and Diyas by the Chief Guest of the occasion, Principal Fr. Dr Athnas Lakra S.J.
Melodic greeting songs highlighted Deepawali’s message. Members of the Cultural Committee and all teachers organised different programmes for the students.
Various competitions were organised under the banner of Inter-house from Std. VI to XII. Students participated in a ramp walk and a show competition on ethnic wear.
A Ramayan skit, folk songs, and dances from different states of India were also presented and highlighted the show. Hundreds of students from the secondary section displayed their items in an innovative way. They decorated items with colourful dupattas, pictures of gods and goddesses, and made various Rangoli designs ranging from geometrical to floral patterns.
The items included different types of Rangolis, candles, diyas, and pooja thalis, all very colourful and decorated with ribbons, sparkles, beads, shells, stars, mirrors, and glitter.
Students presented a beautiful Dep dance. Fireless and wireless cooking, fancy dress, Rangoli competition, diya making, and other events were organised.
The respective class teachers organised games, songs, and dances that the children thoroughly enjoyed. Fr. Principal highlighted the significance of the day and enlightened the staff and students with the message of Deepawali.
