Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang met Kranti Gaud—a fast bowler for the Indian women’s cricket team who has brought glory to Madhya Pradesh and the nation—at TT Nagar Stadium. He congratulated her and extended his best wishes for her outstanding performance at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in England.
Sarang stated that through her exceptional performance, Kranti Gaud has brought renown not only to Madhya Pradesh but to the entire country on the global stage. Her achievement serves as an inspiration for the state’s daughters and young athletes.
Cricketer Kranti Gaud said, “Being part of India’s victory at Lord’s was the greatest moment of my life and that of my family.” She shared that upon seeing her name inscribed on the prestigious Honours Board at Lord’s, she immediately video-called her family to share that historic moment.
Kranti added, “Having one’s name on the Honours Board is every cricketer’s dream. It is a matter of pride for me to have my name recorded there as the first Indian female cricketer. This achievement belongs not just to me, but to my family, my coaches, Madhya Pradesh, and the entire country.”
Minister Sarang expressed confidence that this historic achievement by Kranti Gaud would inspire thousands of the state’s daughters to pursue sports and that, in the future, athletes from Madhya Pradesh would continue to bring glory to India on international platforms.
