Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh Government is placing special emphasis on strengthening sports infrastructure, providing quality training, and ensuring world-class facilities for athletes to promote sports in the state.
CM added that daughters are second to none and are excelling alongside sons in every field. Madhya Pradesh’s daughter, Kranti Gaud, has brought immense pride to both the state and the country through her exceptional talent and sporting excellence.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav was addressing a felicitation ceremony held at the Samvad Bhavan at the Chief Minister’s Residence on Wednesday. On the occasion, he also honoured internationally acclaimed cricketer Kranti Gaud, along with her father Narsingh and brother Mahendra Singh.
CM described Kranti as Madhya Pradesh’s beloved daughter and younger sister, saying that she has ushered in a new sporting revolution in the state through her outstanding achievements.
CM honoured Kranti Gaud, the first Indian woman cricketer to have her name inscribed on the prestigious Lord’s Test Honours Board, with a cheque of Rs 3 lakh and a memento, on behalf of the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare. The CM also lauded her exceptional performance of claiming seven wickets at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground and presented an additional Rs 2 lakh as a personal honorarium in recognition of this remarkable achievement.

Kranti Gaud also interacted with young cricketers and trainees of the Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy. Sharing her journey, the international cricketer said that despite numerous hardships during her childhood, she had resolved to wear Team India’s Blue Jersey one day. She said her journey from a small village of the Bundelkhand region to the international cricket arena would not have been possible without the unwavering support of her parents and family.
Recalling the sacrifices made by her family, Kranti Gaud said they endured extremely difficult times, including living in a leaking house during the monsoon and facing shortages of essential household supplies, to help her pursue her dream. She added that these hardships strengthened her resolve to achieve her goal and make her family and the nation proud.
Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare and Cooperation Vishvas Sarang, Sports Secretary Sanjeev Singh, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Anshuman Singh Yadav, senior officials of the Sports Department and a large number of sports-persons were present at the ceremony.
