The National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, is celebrating its 62nd Foundation Day. On the first day of the three-day program, the Chief Guest—Padma Shri awardee Dr. Nivedita Bhide, All India Vice President of the Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari—unveiled a statue of Swami Vivekananda on the institute’s campus.
Dr. Nivedita Bhide highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s resolve, his struggles, and his role in the global propagation of Indian spiritual traditions. Emphasizing the principle of ‘Ekatma’ (Oneness), she underscored the importance of awakening human consciousness and stated that incorporating Vedanta philosophy into practical life is a necessity of the present times.
Swami Nityagyanananda Maharaj, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Bhopal, remarked that the statue of Swami Vivekananda is not merely a symbol of a specific individual, but rather represents the spirit of renunciation and service.
Dr. Thallada Bhaskar, Director of CSIR-AMPRI, stated that technical institutions will play a pivotal role in building a ‘Developed India’ by the year 2047. He lauded the institute’s progress and extended his best wishes.
The Institute’s Director, Prof. Chandra Charu Tripathi, observed that India is a land of saints, renunciates, and spiritual traditions. He noted that the Foundation Day is not merely a celebratory event, but also a clarion call to assimilate Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts and spiritual wisdom alongside technical education.
Prof. Sanjay Agarwal shed light on the Institute’s developmental journey and its future. Dr. Subrat Roy introduced the guests, while the proceedings were anchored by Mrs. Shobha Lekhwani. Faculty members, staff, former faculty members, and students of the Institute were present on this occasion.
