Jaipur: The Alwar Tiger International Half Marathon was organized on Sunday at the Pratap Auditorium in Alwar, with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma as the chief guest. CM Sharma, along with Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, and Minister of State for Forest and Environment (Independent Charge) Sanjay Sharma, flagged off the marathon in various categories. Actor Randeep Hooda, the brand ambassador for the marathon, was also present.
The Chief Minister encouraged the winners of the 21-kilometer half marathon in the elite men’s and women’s categories at the finish line. During the event, he honored Padma Shri awardee and Bhapang player Gafruddin Mewati Jogi by presenting him with a shawl. The marathon included the 21-kilometer elite men’s and women’s half marathon, 21-kilometer Force Run, 21-kilometer Open Half Marathon, and 10-kilometer Open Marathon.
Chief Minister boosts participants’ morale, takes selfies
Amidst the cool morning breeze, thousands of participants filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm and passion. The city residents and youth welcomed the Chief Minister with great excitement. Sharma also encouraged the participants and acknowledged their greetings. He even took selfies with the young participants. Flowers were showered on the participants from a helicopter during the event.
It is noteworthy that this international-level marathon, organized under the Alwar MP Sports Festival, was based on the themes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Fit India Mission,’ tiger conservation, and promoting Alwar tourism. Runners from various countries, along with personnel from the army, police, and paramilitary forces, participated in the marathon.
Distinguished public representatives, dignitaries, and a large number of marathon participants were present on the occasion.
Alwar Tiger Marathon Achieves Multiple Objectives – Hooda
Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda, the brand ambassador of the ‘Alwar Tiger Marathon’ in Rajasthan, said that the Alwar Marathon has achieved multiple objectives by promoting Fit India, tiger conservation, and tourism.
Speaking to reporters after the Tiger Marathon event in Alwar, Rajasthan on Sunday, Hooda said that Alwar will benefit from this event on the global tourism map. He said that he will come with thorough preparation for the upcoming event, and efforts will certainly be made to make this event even grander. Hooda said that he has seen such enthusiasm for the first time. It seemed that the youth, elderly, women, and girls of Alwar city had all participated in this event.
Hooda said that Alwar is a very beautiful city and Alwar’s Sariska Tiger Reserve is the nearest sanctuary to the NCR, which is significantly boosting tourism and will continue to do so. Responding to a question about film shooting in Alwar, he said that Alwar is also a very good city for film shooting.
Hooda said that with today’s marathon event, Alwar will be on the world map, and this will certainly inspire filmmakers to once again choose Alwar as a preferred district for film shooting. He said, “Next time I will come to make a wildlife movie. I have a program to come in March.”
Hooda specifically thanked Alwar MP and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav for this event, saying that such events definitely convey the message of Fit India and send a clear message regarding tiger conservation and tourism.
