Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) celebrated Traditional Day with great pomp and show on January 24, 2026. The Traditional Day, based on the theme of reviving traditions and connecting hearts, aimed to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage.
Organized under the leadership of Dr. Ashish Dilraj, Head of the Commerce Department, and with the cooperation of the department members, the cultural segment of the program beautifully showcased India’s heritage. The audience was captivated by the various forms of classical and folk dances based on Indian heritage.
Principal Dr. Father John PJ welcomed everyone and expressed his joy that almost all the students of the college were present on such a traditional occasion, stating that this is their strength as well as the strength of the country’s heritage.
Principal thanked the special guest, Hariom Jatia – Managing Director of Excellence Time Entertainment Private Limited, expressing gratitude for his support over the years. The chief guest, Maharaja Arunashwar Saran Singhdeo of Surguja, appreciated the college for staying connected to its roots while progressing towards development and praised the spectacular display of heritage.
The celebrity guest of the event was Nikita Porwal, Femina Miss India 2024, who, in her address, said that heritage is not in showmanship or modernity, but in our Indian simplicity, tradition, and humility, and that is truly our identity and what gives us happiness. Nikita Porwal and all the guests also participated in a ramp walk.
There were four rounds of the ramp walk, based on which the participants were awarded various titles. The judges for the event were – Alpa Rawal, Designer and Founder – Ivyfall The Creation, Nikhla Gupta – General Manager, Aries Multidimension, Indore, and Neha Srivastava, Fashion Lecturer and Textile Designer.
Following the spectacular grand finale, the young students enjoyed Qawwali music and a DJ performance. Various stalls offering regional delicacies added a delightful and flavorful touch to the event. Dr. Renu Bhadauria, the event in-charge, extended her gratitude to everyone.
On this occasion, Mr. Traditional title was bagged by Anshuman Chauhan, while Miss Traditional title went to Filza Khan.
