AIIMS Bhopal continues to enhance its academic presence and strengthen its contribution to public health research. In this spirit, the Department of Community Medicine marked an impactful participation at the 11th South Central Zone Conference of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM), held at Dr. L.N. Pandey Medical College, Ratlam, on 28–29 November 2025. A delegation comprising seven Junior Residents and one Faculty member represented AIIMS Bhopal at the event.
All seven residents presented original research and review papers, reflecting diverse work across priority areas of public health, epidemiology and community-based interventions. Their presentations highlighted strong methodological skills and a high standard of scientific inquiry.
The department achieved notable success as four residents — Dr. Suparna Mishra, Dr. Shemona Gupta, Dr. Arjun B., and Dr. Pavan Kumar Krishnapur — received Best Paper Awards in their respective categories. Other residents including Dr. Avinash, Dr. Shraddha and Dr. Aakansha also actively participated by presenting their papers at the conference.
In addition, Dr. Pankaj Prasad contributed to the academic proceedings by serving as the Chairperson for the Quiz Competition Session, further strengthening the department’s role in academic leadership and professional development.
The participation and achievements of the AIIMS Bhopal team underline the institute’s strong commitment to high-quality research, community-engaged learning and innovation in public health practice. The collective efforts of the department continue to elevate its academic stature and inspire excellence among peers and future scholars.
