Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan has said that for the multidimensional development of a child’s personality, it is essential to motivate them to study in their mother tongue. He said that what children are taught is better understood when it is in their native language, and the National Education Policy prioritises learning in the mother tongue.
Dharmendra Pradhan was interacting with teachers on Sunday after inspecting the Government Kamla Nehru Sandipani School at TT Nagar in Bhopal. Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani were also present.
The Union Education Minister visited classrooms in the Sandipani School and interacted with the students. He examined their textbooks and spoke to them about their studies. On his arrival at the school, the girl students welcomed him with a band performance. He visited the art gallery, library and observed the children’s martial art practice of ‘Wushu’, as well as touring the school’s music room and appreciating their patriotic musical presentations.
Pradhan also visited the school’s Atal Tinkering Lab, where he reviewed the science models prepared by students and obtained information about the equipment available in the science and robotics laboratories. He urged the teachers to encourage children not only in academics but also in sports, music and literary activities. Dharmendra Pradhan said that efforts should be strengthened through public participation to ensure that children receive nutritious meals.
Dialogue with parents
Pradhan also interacted with the parents. He said that parents should regularly visit the school to stay informed about their children. Complete development of children can only be possible through coordination between parents and teachers. He advised teachers to closely monitor the academic progress of children studying in the primary classes. Pradhan wrote in the school’s visitors’ book that teachers should make collective efforts to ensure that the girl students of the school qualify in the JEE and NEET examinations in the next academic session.
Kamla Nehru Sandipani School profile
Principal of Kamla Nehru School, Sangeeta Saxena informed that the school was established in 1958. At present, around 1,500 girl students from Class Arun (KG–1) to Class 12 are receiving high-quality education here. During the inspection, Rahul Kothari and Councillor Aarti Aneja were also present.
