National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of semiconductor skilling and research.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. C. C. Tripathi, Director, NITTTR Bhopal and Prof. Gobardhan Das, Director, IISER Bhopal. The objective of the MoU is to make the country technologically stronger through research, innovation, skill development and joint efforts.
Prof. Tripathi, Director, NITTTR Bhopal said on this occasion that both the institutes will work together in the field of assembly and packaging of semiconductor devices. He said that at one time India was dependent on imports in the field of semiconductors, but today the situation has changed and the whole world is looking towards India with expectations in this field.
Linking this partnership to the research priorities of the country, Prof. Gobardhan Das, Director, IISER Bhopal said that today research is meaningful only when it is based on the real needs and priorities of the nation. He said that the real purpose of academic institutions is fulfilled only when they equip their students with the necessary skills and make them employable.
This MoU will accelerate joint research and development, which will lead to better results in less time. This will prepare a new generation of semiconductor professionals whose demand is constantly increasing in the industry. The semiconductor industry is expected to create millions of skilled and semi-skilled jobs in India in the next decade, which will make this sector a major source of employment.
On this occasion, Prof. PK Purohit, Prof. P.K Khanna, Prof. Ramesh Gupta, Prof. Seema Verma, Prof. Pallavi Bhatnagar, Dean of NITTTR Bhopal and Dr. Chandan Sahi, Prof. of IISER, Bhopal were present. Shantanu Talukdar and other faculty members were also present.
