
A historic initiative was undertaken to establish Indian systems of medicine on a scientific basis, as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between AIIMS Bhopal and Patanjali Research Foundation Trust.
This agreement aims to promote collaborative research, education, and innovation by integrating modern allopathic medicine with ancient Ayurvedic knowledge, thereby providing comprehensive and effective healthcare solutions to patients.
Representing the Patanjali Research Institute at the MoU signing was Chief Scientist Dr. Anurag Varshney. Under this collaboration, joint research will be conducted on fatty liver, allergies, lifestyle-related diseases, liver disorders, respiratory issues, kidney diseases, and neurological disorders. In this context, there was an in-depth discussion on the clinical controlled trials of evidence-based Ayurvedic medicines developed by Patanjali — Livogrit and Bronchom.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh said that this agreement marks a new beginning in delivering more effective, accessible, and holistic healthcare solutions by integrating modern medical science with traditional Indian knowledge.
Largest herbal garden in MP will be established within AIIMS Bhopal campus
He also informed that the largest herbal garden in Madhya Pradesh will be established within the AIIMS Bhopal campus by the Patanjali Research Foundation Trust. This garden will offer immense potential for research and academic purposes.
Dr. Anurag Varshney remarked that this collaboration is a significant step toward establishing the credibility of Patanjali Ayurveda on a global platform. Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar, who played a key role in organizing the event, said that this initiative will serve as an excellent example of the integration of modernity and ancient wisdom. Present on the occasion from AIIMS Bhopal were Dean (Research) Prof. (Dr.) Rehan-UI-Haq, Dean (Academics) Prof. (Dr.) Rajnish Joshi, Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar, along with several other senior officials and scientists.
