Padma Awards 2025: The Central government on Saturday announced the recipients of the coveted Padma Awards.
Padma Awards 2025 were conferred on the eve of Republic Day, with singer Sharda Sinha getting Padma Vibhushan posthumously. Singer Arijit Singh, director Shekhar Kapur, actor Ajith Kumar and late singer Pankaj Udhas are among the icons who will be conferred with the Padma awards.
Among those who have received Padma Vibhushan posthumousl are former Suzuki chief Osamu Suzuki, folk singer Sharda Sinha and famous Malayalam language litterateur MT Vasudevan Nair.
Former Chief Justice (Retd.) Jagdish Singh Khehar, Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy of Telangana, Kumuduni Rajnikant Lakhia of Gujarat and Lakshmi Narayan Subramaniam will be honored with Padma Vibhushan.
Talking about the big names, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Modi has been awarded Padma Bhushan, Ghazal singer Pankaj Udas has been posthumously awarded Padma Bhushan. Apart from these, former SBI chairperson Arudhanti Bhattacharya and cricketer R Ashwin, hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh will be awarded Padma Bhushan.
When we talk about Padma Bhushan, icons who have got the honour from the field of art include names such as Anant Nag, Jatin Goswami, late singer Pankaj Udhas, filmmaker and Shekhar Kapur.
Out of 113 Padma Shri awards, Adwaita Charan Gadanayak, Achyut Ramchandra Palav, Ashok Laxman Saraf, Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, Barry Godfray John, Gokul Chandra Das, Farooq Ahmad Mir, Durga Charan Ranbir, Bharat Gupt, Guruvayur Dorai, Harchandan Singh Bhatty, Harjinder Singh Srinagar Wale, Hassan Raghu, Jaspinder Narula, Joynacharan Bathari and Nirmala Devi.
Singer Arijit Singh and Ricky Kej have received the honour for their contribution to the field of music.
