CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will plant a ‘Sankalp Vriksha’ at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day 2026. The plantation programme is being organised as the first step towards the national Army Day celebrations to be held in Bhopal for the first time on January 15, 2027. It is being held to express public gratitude for the courage, sacrifice and dedication of brave soldiers of the Indian Army.
A special feature of the plantation programme is that the ‘Sankalp Vriksha’ will be watered and nurtured with sacred soil collected under the state-wide ‘Meri Maati’ campaign. Through this campaign, soil carrying the sentiments of citizens from villages, towns and cities in every district of the state has been brought to Shaurya Smarak.
The coming together of soil from every district represents the collective reverence and emotional bond of people of Madhya Pradesh with soldiers who stand ready to protect the nation’s borders and sovereignty.
The ‘Sankalp Vriksha’ to be planted at Shaurya Smarak will also mark the beginning of a series of military honour activities to be organised across the state in the coming months. The ‘Vriksha’ will stand as a lasting and living symbol of state’s unwavering faith and respect for the nation’s immortal martyrs and serving soldiers.
Under this campaign, various public awareness and honour programmes will be organised continuously until January 15, 2027. These activities will conclude with the main Army Day celebrations.
