Mahakumbh Viral Star: Monalisa, the viral girl who rose to fame on social media for selling Rudraksha beads at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, is now living her biggest dream. Once a vendor selling beads at a fair, Monalisa has now entered the world of Bollywood and is currently shooting a film in the historically and naturally rich forests of Khalanga in Uttarakhand.
Monalisa’s enthusiasm is clearly visible amidst the cameras. She says that sometimes she can’t believe that she has come so far from her simple life. For her, it’s all like a beautiful dream, which she is living with complete sincerity.
Monalisa says that people think she has changed, but that’s not true. Her relationship with the people she used to sell Rudraksha beads with remains the same. Her real heroes are her parents. Her dream is to earn money through hard work and open a school in her village so that other children can get a chance to progress. Seeing the beauty of Dehradun, she says that if the forests are so beautiful, then the people here must also be kind-hearted.
According to the film’s director, Sanoj Mishra, ‘The Diary of Manipur’ is a sensitive and socially relevant film based on the social tension and violence in Manipur. The story brings to light the struggles, fears, courage, and truth of a young woman. The film has been shot at several beautiful locations in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Mussoorie, and Vikasnagar. About a week of shooting remains, after which post-production work will begin. The film is scheduled for release in April 2026.
Notably, on Sunday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the first poster of the film in Dehradun, further increasing the audience’s anticipation. Monalisa’s scenes, shot from a helicopter, are also generating a lot of buzz.
This film, being made on a budget of approximately 20 crore rupees, is considered a content-driven film. In the film, Monalisa will be seen playing the role of an army officer’s daughter. She stars alongside actors Abhishek Tripathi, Nagesh Mishra, Rajkummar Rao’s brother Amit Rao, and local artist Vishnu Dubey in key roles.
Monalisa’s father, Jai Bhonsle, is extremely happy with his daughter’s success. Jai Bhonsle clearly states that even after her daughter entering the film industry, he will never stop selling Rudraksha beads. Selling beads at fairs is his identity, and he will continue to do so.
